Drehstart von Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf
The very first western prank with dialect-showdown
Recording of "Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf” started on 30 August 2011 in Diersburg in Baden-Wurttemberg, ending 12 October 2011. The film stars a high profile cast of genuine Swabians: Natalia Wörner plays Maria Häberle from Oberriesling, Karoline Eichhorn plays her sister Christine. Klara Häberle – the wild and cheeky pet of the family – is played by Julia Nachtmann. The young girl is deeply in love with Peter Rossbauer from Unterrieslingen, played by Hans Löw. Gottfried Häberle, the patriarch who is fighting a lost battle, is played by Christian Pätzold, and Elisabeth Schwarz plays Elisabeth Rossbauer, the headstrong pig farmer and the mother of Peter.
No other German province
is pursuing new paths at the same pace as Baden-Wurttemberg. No other German
province enjoys the sympathies and solidarity the Swabians are currently being
granted. There has never been a better time for producing a Swabian comedy and
the audience enjoys the Swabian wit and humor that reflects in its
dialect.
"We are making a
western and not a stuffy “Heimatfilm” –
and at monkey-like speed because the Swabian is not slow by nature but
really fast”, says the author and director Ulrike Grote about her project.
Having grown up in Pforzheim, she is an expert on Swabians. In 2005, she won
the desirable Student Oscar as the director of her short film "Der
Ausreißer" , which was also nominated for the Oscar in the category best
short film one year later.
